Boogie grew up in Tyler, where he attended Robert E. Lee High School and was a member of Colonial Hills Baptist Church. Boogie was part of Colonial Hills when they originally planted Oakbrook Baptist Church, which later became Green Acres South. He and his wife Karen met while both students in the College Ministry of Green Acres.
Boogie spent a few years in the Christian music business, and then the secular business world, before surrendering to full time ministry. Since then he has served in area churches as Student Pastor, Small Groups Minister, and Associate Pastor.
Boogie returned to student ministry when he came to Green Acres South in 2015. His prayer for The HUB Student Ministry is for it to be a place where students from all walks of life can come to RE:Fresh, RE:Fuel, and RE:Focus, so that when God calls they can say, “Here I am. Send me.”
When not raising three kids with Karen, Boogie enjoys the solitude of an early morning, laying on a beach, writing music, playing drums, playing drums, and playing drums.
